ROMIOSINI is a discussion mailing list about various aspects of the Eastern Holy Roman Empire, Byzantium, as history, politics, military strategy, arts, and sciences. The Romiosini List is intended to function as a forum for the creation of ideas and development of discoveries about Romiosini. The founders of this list believe that society, culture, and traditions of Eastern Christendom continued uninterrupted during the Turkish domination. For this reason, the era of Ottoman Empire is considered to belong to the age of Romiosini. We hope that this list will help us to find the true history of Romiosini, and discover the truth of sir S. Runciman's phrase: "The Greeks have never lived a Dark Age, as History shows." The postings in this list may be written either in Greek or in English.
